Spain

When: July 1995

How Long: 1 Week

Background: When I was studying in France, a group of us went down for the Running of the Bulls (known there as the Festival of San Fermin) in Pamplona. We stayed in a nearby village called San Sebastian along the coast which has the most beautiful beach I ever saw.  For the running, we took a bus up to Pamplona and for a couple days.  Out of the 20 of us who came to the festival on myself and another guy did the running of the bulls.

A clip from the local newspaper: The bullfighting ring that the Running emptied into on the day I ran it.  See me?

Some of the gang I went to Pamplona with.  Note white T-shirts so the blood stands out better

About 4AM Trent tries a drunken cartwheel

All hostels were full so we slept in the open....

Start of the Running, note the bulls are bigger than people...

You can see how close the bulls got.  The arrows point to me in this picture from the newspaper

Here is where the bulls and us runners emptied into, a stadium where the bulls ran around for 20 minutes hitting people.

Here is me overlooking the City of San Sebastian, which was the most beautiful in Europe in my opinion
