When:
Feb-Mar 2000
How Long: 5 Weeks
Background: I went to New Zealand to literally get away from it all. I mean
AWAY, it is about the most remote country on Earth. I quit Honda and explored
both of the islands on a youth bus tour, called the Kiwi Express, that was like
a rolling party.
Wearing wet suits for caving and rappelling at Waitomo Caves
|
Group dinner near the hostel in Lake Taupo
|
Me voluntarily jumping out of an airplane at 20,000 feet
|
There is nothing like freefall....
|
Di, our Kiwi bus driver, and Matt and Jen, two Brits I met,
before their sky dive
|
Climbing the Franz Josef glacier on the South Island...for nine
hours. Hardest damn thing I ever did.
|
Taking a break mounting biking near Nelson on the South Island with
Karin and Harm (Dutch), and Katrine (Danish)
|
Matt fixing his tire while we mountain biked near Queenstown, South
Island
